Lee Knapp will lead this session designed to help you learn about your management communication style and how to adjust to the styles of others. It will be fast-paced and fun! Participants will take an Everything DiSC Management Assessment prior to the workshop.This tool produces a 24-page customized report unique to you. Open to all attendees – an additional $100 fee applies for DiSC materials. Space is limited. You must register in advance and complete your DiSC profile prior to March 12, 2019.

Marc DeShusses, PhD, is professor of civil and environmental engineering at Duke University. He has worked on Gates Foundation projects relating to re-inventing the toilet and is a key engineer developing low-infrastructure waste treatment systems.

   

  

ICC, ADA, and Portable Restroom Trailers: New Code Implications

Keegan Campbell and David Harling of Ameri-Can Engineering are well versed on the latest changes to the International Code Council’s standards. They will provide an update to the recent changes in ICC’s requirements and how that affects accessibility and ADA requirements for both the equipment and operations in the restroom trailer industry.

   
 

Transforming the Image of the Portable Sanitation Industry: A Roadmap to the Tipping Point

PSAI Executive Director, Karleen Kos, will describe the Association’s strategy for moving our industry from a not-always-appreciated service to a respected alternative using principles from Malcolm Gladwell’s bestselling book “The Tipping Point.”

 
New Program Feature: HOLLway Sessions (Hands On Learning Labs)
   

HOLLway sessions are opportunities for you to learn by doing. Rather than a classroom, you’ll join the instructors in a location where you can watch a demonstration and participate in the portable sanitation-specific activity at hand. There will be four 30-minute sessions with 3 breaks of 10 minutes to move between learning stations. Choose from the following topics:

  • Maintaining and rebuilding pumps
  • Conducting DOT-compliant pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Servicing and maintaining luxury restroom trailers
  • Refurbishing a standard portable restroom unit
  • Building the ideal truck
  • Cleaning portable sanitation equipment (units/hand wash stations)
  • Leveraging the science of deodorizers
  • Winter solutions: mixing brine and other options

2019 Awards Luncheon

Gather with friends and colleagues as we seat the 2019-2020 PSAI Board of Directors and present our industry awards. There will also be a slideshow dedicated to all of our volunteers and the hard work they’ve put in over the past year. This luncheon is included in your registration. Join us as we honor outstanding contributions and reflect on a prosperous year.

 
   
 

The Innovation Forum

Trade show exhibitors will take turns at the podium, giving short presentations on the most innovative products that can be found at their booths. A cross between speed dating and the Home Shopping Network, this event will help attendees identify which exhibitors to seek out on the floor. Allow yourself to be blown away by the advancements being made in the portable sanitation industry. Each speaker’s booth number will be on display during their presentation, so be sure to take note!

 
   
 

Silent Auction

Get great deals on a wide assortment of items our exhibitors will offer for silent auction. Everything from portable sanitation equipment to electronics to gift cards are available to the highest bidder. Thursday Street Fair and Closing Party

Celebrate another great year with the PSAI and its wonderful trade show exhibitors. On Thursday evening exhibitors will offer games and prizes at their booths, the PSAI will sponsor  contests, and music will be in the air. Grab some free food and a drink at the cash bar, take your chances at the games, dance a little if you feel like it, and network with your industry friends. There will be prize drawings, and announcements of the contest and silent auction winners.

 
   
 

Basic Service Technician Training Series and Certification Exam

On Friday, March 29, the PSAI will offer its training series designed to address the knowledge and competencies required for success as portable sanitation professionals. These courses are offered both separately and as a series. When taken together and followed by successful completion of the exam, these three courses will satisfy the licensing requirements in the states of Illinois and Georgia, and the courses are also recognized for continuing education credit by states requiring CE for the maintenance of a license. The courses include:

  • Transportation and Logistics in Portable Sanitation
  • Servicing and Maintaining Portable Sanitation Equipment
  • Health, Safety, and Professional Excellence
